Welcome to week 4 of our tiny sweater KAL. This week’s sweater is a pull over with a whimsical snowman knit into it.
So far this winter this is the only kind of snowman I have been able to make as we haven’t had any real snow yet in Massachusetts…and I am NOT complaining 🙂
The sweater is knit all in one piece with no seaming. It is made using only 3 double pointed needles. . You knit in the round as you would with 4 or 5 needles but it is so much less awkward on such a tiny garment. Snowman’s eyes, nose buttons, and ends of scarf are embroidered on after sweater is finished.
Sweater is approx. 3″ tall
- Size 2 Double pointed needles (set of 3)
- Sport Weight, dk, lace or DMC #5 pearl cotton weight yarn. 30 yards for main color, 3 yards of white, 1 yard ea of purple, green and black. Yarn used in sample is Lion Brand Bon Bons
- miniature doll coat hanger or Large paper clip to make your own coat hanger.
- large darning needle

Here is a video I found on You tube to make your own coat hangers out of large paper clips:
